Stop the UAW bureaucracy’s threats against Will Lehman!
On July 16, Raymond L. Jensen Jr.—an open supporter of incumbent UAW President Shawn Fain and until recently assistant director of UAW Region 9—posted an AI-generated image on Will Lehman’s campaign page depicting him bound, gagged, and held at gunpoint, in response to Will’s statement on the federal investigation into Fain. Lehman is a socialist and Mack Trucks worker, and an officially certified candidate for UAW president, nominated on June 18 at the union’s 39th Constitutional Convention in Detroit.
The threat is aimed at every worker who challenges the bureaucracy. If a threat like this can be made openly against a candidate for the union’s highest office, no worker who stands up in their own local is safe. “The UAW apparatus has threatened Will because what he is fighting for threatens the institution of the UAW. It is not an institution that defends or represents the workers, the membership. It represents those who hold power and will not voluntarily relinquish it. An investigation is needed to uncover all those who are perpetuating this injustice against Will. It should be a criminal investigation by the monitor. Without a doubt, this shows Solidarity House, Fain and all of them are in bed with Ford, GM and Stellantis—and all the auto-related corporations. They act like the Godfather. Fain has not done anything for workers.
